Summer check-in

Hello friends,
Summer’s in full swing—beach days, backyard barbecues, music fests, outdoor theatres. The world feels alive this time of year, doesn’t it?
But before you get on with your jam-packed day, let’s take a little pause. Just a quick check-in—from me to you:
How are you really doing?
The magic and mayhem of summer
There’s something about summer that sweeps us up in its energy. The long, golden days seem to tell you, “Do more. Move faster. Say yes to everything.” It’s a season full of spontaneity, adventure, and plans on top of plans.
But between all the fireworks and FOMO, it’s easy to forget something important—we all need space to just be.
You might be seeing everyone out and about—hiking trails, road-tripping, brunching under umbrellas—and wondering if you’re “doing summer right.” But guess what? There’s no one right way to experience summer. What matters is that it feels right to you.
The beauty of slowing down
While the world buzzes around you, it’s more than okay (it’s actually necessary) to take a day, or a few, to do nothing at all. No schedules. No rushing. No chasing sunsets.
Slow mornings with your favourite coffee, an afternoon nap, reading a book just for fun, journaling with no agenda, wandering around with no destination in mind, no place to go—these moments are just as valid and valuable as any adventures.
Sometimes, the most refreshing thing you can do is disconnect from the noise and reconnect with yourself.
Spending time with yourself, for yourself
/
When was the last time you hung out with yourself—not to get anything done, but just to enjoy your own company?
Solitude isn’t loneliness. It’s sacred. Time by yourself allows you to attune to your own beat. Hear your own rhythm.
I would like you to try doing these nourishing ways to spend time with yourself:
Get creative—paint, knit, garden, or cook something fun
Visiting a peaceful museum or park alone
Put on music and do absolutely nothing
Write for the joy of it—not for goals or posting
These little moments bring you back to you—not the version you show the world, but the one that exists underneath it all.
It’s okay to press pause
So this summer, permit yourself:
To say no to plans that drain you
Not to be available 24/7
To unplug from your phone
To nap in the middle of the day
To spend a weekend watching comfort shows
To be by myself—without justification
Let this be your sign that your well-being matters. You deserve joy, but also rest. You deserve connection, but also solitude. You deserve movement, but also stillness.
Before you go, here’s a small challenge: pick a day this week to check in with yourself: What do I need today? What would feel nourishing for my soul? Then honour that need—whether it’s something small, silly, or indulgent.
Breathe deep. Slow down. Reconnect. You’re doing just fine
